David, Roch, and I have been chattering about trying to catch some aurorae tonight.
Thompson Park doesn't quite have the darkest sky by any measure, but it's close and accessible. The forecast is "some cloud cover," so while I'll also have my deep-sky rig out, I'm not getting my hopes up.
But if the sky to the north is clear, and if we're lucky with timing, all that sun-activity we're seeing in the day will hopefully translate to quite the light show at night.
Where: Thompson Park, Hudson QC
When: After dark, sometime.
It'll be not too cold, but with an overnight low under 10C, you should still dress like it's January. Bug spray might not be a terrible idea either.
