On June 15th, we will host a lecture by Dr. Vladimir  Karpov, a senior scientist at MPB Communications Inc. Vladimir has received a degree  in electrical engineering from Moscow Telecommunication Institute and Ph.D. in Physics from General Physics Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences. He moved to Canada in 1999 and joint MPB Communications where he leads an R&D group developing advanced visible and short pulse fiber lasers.
Vladimir is also an amateur photographer and a member of Lakeshore Camera Club. He will share his experience of visiting ESO Very Large Telescope Facilities in Paranal, Chile, as well as introducing how these huge optics can be aligned. Come and join us in his exciting exploration in Morgan Arboretum!
The lecture will commence indoors at 20:00 and then be followed by a “Sky Tour” and public “Star Party” (weather permitting). Regardless of the weather, the RASC Montreal Centre’s Bellevue Observatory will be open for sightseeing and tours.
