David H. Levy is a world renowned comet discover and an inspiration to so many amateur astronomers throughout the years – serving as the Honorary President of both Montreal & Kingston Centres, publishing articles in Centre Newsletters like the RASC Montreal Skyward, giving talks throughout the world and as a frequent speaker with RASC, the Astronomical League and co-hosting the Global Star Parties with Explore Alliance, At RASC Doveed was the recipient of the RASC Chant Medal in 1980 and the Simon Newcomb Award in 2002 & is a named Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
After publishing over 30 books Doveed wrote his autobiography a few years ago and also worked on a book for children to share his love of space, This past year is significant with two milestones for him: over 100 eclipses observed and the 30th anniversary of the comet SL9 impact with Jupiter in 1994.
