25 Years of Observatories

Observatories – 25 years of visits!
Our May Public Event is part of our May Library Night!
RASC Montreal Centre invites the public to join our members in a guided tour of 25 years of visits to astronomical observatories on several continents. Astronomical observatories are portals to the universe. These are sublime and exceptional places from which the most cutting-edge measurements of modern astrophysics come out. Daniel Provençal will take us on this journey and share, through his own photographs, his impressions and the story of being there, on these mountain peaks.
Join us after the talk for some full moon observing on the JAC Oval if weather permits.

The RASC Montreal I.K.Williamson Library is hosted at John Abbott College in H-355 (Herzberg Building, Room 355). Easiest entrance is off 15 rue Maple through the Casgrain Building entrance. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided, and we encourage you to bring your own mug/cup.
Library doors open at 7:45pm (Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024).
