Thursday night’s RASC’s Perseids Meteor Shower watching event at the Morgan Arboretum was judged by all to have been a huge success!
Well over 300 hundred visitors joined the RASC Montreal Centre members for a wonderful Perseids / Meteor lecture at the Arboretum’s Conservation Centre and then out in the meadow to watch one of natures finest shows. It was estimated that approximately 24 meteorites were visible per hour. Many stayed until well after 2:00am waiting for more Perseids. Many expressed their gratitude to the RASC members present for hosting this memorable evening under the stars.
A big thanks to all the RASC members who turned out and who helped to make this our biggest public event of the year a success.
A special thanks to Andrew Fazekas for the 3 (full-house) lectures on meteors and to our friends at the Morgan Arboretum for their kind hospitality and support in making this event a success.
